Understanding Vin

I went on lastvin.com to check details of my SL280 year 1981 and it gave me the following Paint 1 and Paint 2 can someone explain this please. As far as I know the Factory colour was Lapis Blue but on the door sill I can notice the silver blue colour too.

not sure what you are asking but you have 2 paints and the vin decoder gives the 2 paint codes.

What do you mean by 2 paints, the car only had one colour on it and if this car was re painted which it was by previous owners I dont think it would show on lastvin

Now no cause as i said car was repainted and its all Lapis Blue now but maybe it was when it came out of Factory, could colour 1 and 2 mean that it had a 2 tone shade

That’s what last vin is telling you, the factory build sheet rather than what it current is

On the score of two tones, not a bad idea. You should carefully check the vin. You may be able to do this in more detail with Epicvin's history report
