I have had a warning message come up this evening that says " undervoltage consumer defective !" This is on a 2001 c240 manual. I've consulted the handbook which states that this fault is a category 1 (the highest priority message) but fails to say what is at fault! Please help !!!!!!!!

Dont worry at this stage, this is an automatic warning when say the battery is getting low, it is triggered when the voltage drops below 11.75 volts. Maybe when the warning came on you it was at the start ín the morning with the heated rear window on and lights.

If the light keeps comming up it is time to change the battery.

Undervoltage

I've had this message a couple of times but it normally says "Undervoltage switch off consumers" which means just that, turn everything off to conserve battery power. I beleive the other message - consumer defective may mean something else!? I recall someone else with this message on this forum. Search for Undervoltage and read:
