What is causing this on the rear tyres?

It certainly looks like underinflation...but the camber is also quite a bit? You can see daylight under the outer edge of the tyre.

Absolutely this!

Pretty sure there are eccentric washers that can be used to resolve this, at that level I would expect less grip.

Get it to a good four wheel alignment shop!
They should check everything including the pressures.
Cost of mine was £70

Think about it. The tyre is wearing excessively on the inside edge (cant see other side to say if its underinflation). So it means tyre is effectively riding on the inside edge and not riding the entire surface.
You need your cars camber, alignment all doing and the tyre needs going in the bin.
A good tyre place will do it all, any stange noises when you drive, could be something broken down there.

Oh and welcome to the forum. Hope you stick around.

Imagine it was your foot how would you have to walk to get that wear pattern?

I had this on my X-Type Jag, caused by worn suspension bushes. Get the car to a proper 4 wheel alignment centre as it's not easy to spot worn bushes on well made cars ;)

More like under-inflated, too late to adjust the pressures out, the tyre is knackered and dangerous and will never get through an MOT like that
You are correct, on my phone it looked like wear in the centre of the tread.

Camber is a mile out , something is either bent or seriously worn in the suspension department.

Is the other side the same ?

I've known this wear on a couple of Mercedes - both lived on roads with plenty of speed cushions and the drivers always straddled them...
