Hi, I've recently purchased a 2010 Class B. Really enjoying discovering the quirks of MB's!
One thing I can't find in the manual is a 'N' symbol that pops up on the dash occasionally.
I can't work out what it means - it's not an automatic, so presume not related to the gears?
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Wasn't meant to be.
My car has stop/start and is a auto.
Just never heard of it on a manual before.
I was once lent a manual B Class by MB that had stop/start. IIRC it restarted when you dipped the clutch - it was a while back. That was a car I couldn't wait to give back ..... and the girl on reception said that everyone says that! :D

I could be wrong but I always assumed that Start/Stop was commonly first fitted with manual gearboxes.
My first experience of the technology was back in 2012 on a manual Ford Focus and have to say I liked it...then had it on my next 3 manual cars.
What I liked about it was its ease of use and controlability, specifically when it would activate - in neutral with clutch raised and engine stops, then press down on the clutch to restart the engine.
With an automatic though it is horrendous - engine cutting out when you dont want it to every time the wheel come to a stop (sometimes just before)!
I am now on my third auto with Start/Stop and I routinely turn it off when starting the engine.
The technology itself is good, but not when paired with an automatic gearbox.
I cannot get my head round anybody that likes Start/Stop with an automatic gearbox and believes that it operates in a proper logical manner. o_O

^ First thing I turn off if I'm keeping the auto box in Comfort. Using Sport or Sport + turns off stop/start automatically.
