Bonjour all,
Unfortunately (in reply to malcolm) there isn't anything but the tyre pressure table on the inside of the fuel filler flap. So does that mean I'll never be able to use unleaded? Or is there a more costly way of doing it?

Someone said to me you can get something to put in your tank that does the lead replacement bit of things - is this true?

The other thing is, that my 350 SL hasn't come with an owners manual - anyone know where I might get hold of one? Even a photocopy would be great to have, as I don't even know which fuses apply to each light!

Thanks for your time, hope you can get the hood off sometime soon Malcolm!,
Regards,
Chris

Also Malcolm, you mentioned Ecoteks in a previous thread, what are they? - sorry to bombard you with questions!

See the following thread for explanation and various comments on Ecotek valves - http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard/topic.cgi?forum=2&topic=516. You will notice there are mixed opinions on their benefits. The manufacturer's homepage is at http://www.cleanburn.co.uk/.

Regarding unleaded, I'm not qualified to advise beyond my earlier post, but I'm sure someone will comment.

Sorry, don't know about owner's manual - except that the pirate W107 service CDs to be found on ebay for about US$20 contain a copy of the manual for a 1989 560SL. This may be similar - or may be not. Perhaps someone with a 350SL will come up with an offer of a copy. If nothing turns up, let me know and I'll print off the critical pages from the CD - fuses, bulbs etc - for you.
