Hi guys, I’m thinking this fella here could use some LED head lights and maybe sporty brake callipers! WDY think? And what expenses should I be looking out for? Will it hit hard on insurance as well? 6C8873D5-67CF-4E60-9900-2E45838985BB.jpeg

Hello and welcome

Paint the callipers you have… ;)

LED’s will be around £1K per light - you could try breakers but they know where they’re worth as well

If you have halogen lamps (H7,H11) then changing them to LED will produce an utterly crap beam pattern. Far better to buy upgraded halogen lamps. Osram’s Nightbreaker range are consistently the brightest and come in a variety of flavours, you’ll want the 6000K erosion for the racerrrr look ;)

If you wish to upgrade to the full LED lamps et then you will need ILS camera mounting on the windscreen and the controller ECU, plus harnesses, plus the £1k per side for the lamps that BC mentioned.

Brake callipers. Why? It’s a 180, you will just be adding considerable weight to the front of the vehicle for no discernible performance gains. In fact you will likely make the car slower to accelerate. It’s not as if you have the mass of a big V8 for your brakes to stop. I agree with BC, paint them a sporty colour of your choice.

@Blobcat @Craiglxviii Whew! Thanks guys. I’m particularly interested in the fully LED lights but whoa!! I think I’ll save towards getting them done which i think will give it totally new look.

Thanks again on the callipers. I will paint them I’m not looking to slow it down lol. Good you brought that up… Recently, I realised the car seems to take a bit of dip in speed when you’re doing about 80mph like it’s been capped like my company van and it’s slow to pick up on speed even when you flat the accelerator on Sport mode even with the shifters. Any ideas please?

You can also get Mercedes stickers to apply to the calipers once painted - @SmartAmg has done his

Although clearly you don’t mean 80mph as that would be illegal, right? Must be a typo error?
