AFAIK there are no UK laws preventing you from modifying cars so long as it conforms with Construction & Use, passes an MOT and isn't dangerous to other road users - so no exposed belts, pulleys, etc

I have no doubt that car would pass UK emissions & smoke tests if the fuelling is controlled properly. It would fail the MOT on the cracked n/s headlight, though

Oh my, I just visited www.w124.co.uk site and I realized that such modification would be pretty tricky for 124 series:

"The W210 introduced turbo diesel engines to the UK - the W124 had to do without turbo engines as the steering box of right-hand-drive W124s sits where the turbo is on LHD cars."
