If it is UK dealer fitted MBSS alarm, on the earlier cars you can switch off the passive immobiliser arming part of the system, pain in the ar*e, but loved by insurance companies. The whole system can also be removed if required, leaving just the standard immobiliser system.

Inside the MBSS control unit there is a small bridging connector which pulls off. disconnect / reconnect power to the unit and it should then work ok without immobilising itself.

The unit should be under the false floor under the passenger side carpet, nearest the front, although dealers had a habit of hiding them all over.

Newer Das 3 systems (with the electronic ignition key) cannot be altered

W210 immobilser bypass

I located the small black box, about 3 inches square. A load of aftermarket wiring goes to it via two plugs one slightly larger than the other. The power seems to come from a floor power take off. Some of the wiring goes through the bulkhead and gets to the underbonnet siren via a long route.
There appear to be 3 inline fuses on the wiring.

After opening the box inside there was one small jumper position on one corner of the circuit board. This did not have a jumper on it. I put one on (small jumper from computer board)

What ever position of the jumper or whether the unit is in circuit or not the car still will not start. The interior mirror still has the red and green lights flashing (two of each) when I try to turn over the engine.

Can I remove the alarm completely or have I missed doing something.

The car is 96 model W210 and the system has an orange sticker on it "12/98" which I assume means repaired in. The manu sticker says 95

I need to use the car urgently so any further help would be appreciated

my w210 300d keeps immobolising how can i by pass it?
channing keys and alarms has no effect and it immobolisers by itself even when system is not alarmed

I'm assuming you have successfully nicked the car now, and its broken up and you've sold all the parts?
