Hello,

I am desperately seeking a proud Mercedes owner who would be interested in having their beautiful vehicle photographed for a few hours for a fashion magazine in West London TOMORROW (Sat 21st June)! This will of course involve an unbelievably beautiful model sitting in/oogling over/posing around it for a couple of hours!

I am ideally looking for a convertible cream or silver SL Class circa 1960's/70's but am not set against any other suggestions - all offers welcome!!

As this is an editorial job we sadly don't have a big budget but can pay a token cash sum.

I look forward to any replies!

Many thanks,

I can manage £200 'token cash sum'...not so Mini...??!

If this is appalingly little I'm sorry, no disrespect meant. I'm not used to dealing with car owners and am not sure what the going rate for this type of thing is. A client of mine managed to find an owner last week that co-operated for exactly this brief and for this fee for 5 hours so that's all I have to work on.

Thank you.

If you're looking for an old Merc, perhaps my '93 300D would fit the bill?

I'm sure that with strategic placement of said models we could cover most of the rust and dents so should be OK. I'll also fill the location with a pleasant odour of Huile de Vegetable, something you'll appreciate long after you've gone home.

Let me know if you're interested.... :-D

It's a high end fashion shoot. The magazine is called Exit - it's one of the top 7 British fashion publications. The shoot is taking place on location in West London.

We just need an old beautiful car for a few shots.

Great! I'm up for that.

My car is old and as beauty is apparently in the eye of the beholder we should be OK.
Can you wire the fee upfront please, I'll need it to pay for the bumper I've just ordered. I think it would look better if both bumpers were on the car, don't you?
Sadly there's not much I can do about the crack in the windscreen or the missing rear light before tomorrow but I'm sure we can work around that.

If you give me a bit more notice for next time I'll get it sorted for then.

See you tomorrow :)

If it's a high end fashion shoot Why are you offering "a token cash sum". Thats what happens when kids play with budgets.

Thanks Roadhog!! I'm so pleased, you've saved the day! The one thing I was dreading was a timewaster seeing as I'm so stressed, got less than 12 hours to organise it, never done this before and my job is on the line.

Thanks again, see you tomorrow; 3pm at No9 Nowhere Street, Nowhere, NW16 7FC.

P.S: charming!

No problem, I've just hired a trailer to get it there, forgot to say it doesn't run, sorry. I'm sure some of your models won't mind helping to get it in position.

Stress is OK. It's quite a good diet, keep it up and your next job could be as a model? :D

PS: I do need that money upfront :)

I simply thought that there might be a proud Mercedes owner out there who's free tomorrow and might just enjoy the idea of being involved and having their car photographed for a fashion shoot for a top industry magazine. Obviously I got it wrong but I am by no means a kid playing with a budget.

If there is anyone that is actually interested in the project rather than wasting their time insulting me please call me on the number I provided in the first message.

Thank you.

NW16 7FC ? That's in Pennsylvania! I thought you said it was in London!
No wonder I couldn't find it in my AA road Atlas. At first I thought it was down to the fact that I'm using the 1989 version but jeeez, I think you're asking a bit much for your £200!

Don't get me wrong, I'd still like to do it but I'll need a couple of days to get there. Any chance your models and crew could wait for me? :)

Hey I'll oblige gladly. I don't mind those models in stiletoes standing on my bonet, piercing my leather interior and causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. Hey thats worth it for £200!!!!!!!!

I agree you could have hoped for, and expected, more helpful replies. On other occasions there has been someone with the right type of car happy to oblige. Good luck with your project.

I offered to help! Don't think she liked my car that's all.... :D

Ever thought this might be some sort of scam? Get there and find the 'models' are from Nigeria and not all that good looking (or friendly)?

If they were seriously stuck for a car why not look here or here .
It's not rocket science...

Oh and GFP, that's one sick picture!
