Hi. Registered here hoping to get some feedback.
Considering buying a 1998 ML320. Has a Brabus cosmetic package; brushguards,
wheels, etc. Owner states it has a Hi-Perf chip installed. From looking at the Brabus website the engine appears to be otherwise stock. 77,000 miles, nice car but needs top to bottom in & out wash & detail. Needs 4 tires. Owner asking $14,500.00, an average price here in So.California. Haven't driven yet, owner lost key, expects replacement next two days.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Mike / Jan

I have a (austrian build) ML270 2001 and have done 103,000 miles pretty trouble free. I consider them to be 'honest cars' especially if they a screwed together ok.

I woud want to see some paperwork to give this seller some credibility. Service reports / history, receipt for performance chip etc.

You don't lose the keys to a Brabus ML320 and have no paperwork and no receipt for a significant upgrade?

If he has the papers, I could forgive the key but then who has the originals?

Run Away

Do not buy a 98 or 99 ml of any flavor. I did my homework and bought a used 2000 two years ago. Remember these things may be a MB but they are assembled by Alabama Hillbillies. It took a couple of years to learn their craft.

Run a Carfax and go to the Dealer with the VIN to ensure all of the recalls and updates were done. Verify that it has been properly serviced and look for low miles. The NAV is a waste of money, do not pay extra for it and the integrated phone is worthless.
