Hi all, Ive just bought a 320 clk elegance on a98 plate of my father in law;) and after owning sporty cars like Golf GTis and recently an audi s3 and a nice vw corrado which is tucked away in my garage i was wondering how to get the best from the auto box, When to use the other gears and the sports mode as there is a switch with w and s on it :D The car has a running issue at the moment which hopefully be sorted this week ready for use! Forgive me for being a numpty but im not really that familiar with autos;)

The switch gives you a first gear start in S along with higher shift points both up and down, W is a second gear start and lower shift points plus an alternative reverse ratio, also in W it will not roll back on hills

Stick it in D and just drive it, say I. You have so much power that you won't need to play games with the box. Kickdown works well if you need a quick boost.

Tiptronic to drop a cog or two while waiting to overtake can be handy. But hardly necessary. I find mine changes gear just about where I would so I let it get on with it.
