v class alarm

help us out guys...

my v 220 cdi alarm keeps going off when it rains hard.

and it's gonna annoy the neighbours soon,

Sadly I have no info on the R class, if this only happens when parked the movement sensor muist be too active

Good luck as the alarms on these are very difficult to diagnose as the wiring diagrams are useless and the system is over complicated.

Try seeing if the door contact switches are working or the doors are adjusted properly.

They also suffer with the wiring looms that go through the door hinges breaking causing all sorts of problems.

A good electrician will be able to help somewhat.

not R class malc ...V class.

yes, only happens when parked and raining heavy.

i wondered if water could be affecting the loom but where to start looking

Sorry do not have the V.-
This will not be a water issue it is a movement sensor I think you will find that is the case.

not a whole lot of movement going on malc.

i suspect water ingress might be causing a voltage change. what do you think?

just off out to plaster every thing with duck oil

we found dome dodgy connections from the siren (below drivers side headlamp) to the main loom. approx 18 inches from the siren.

re- made the joints on the 3 wires and so far so good ...even through the recent monsoons.
