V-Class warranty

Can anyone clarify the corrosion warranty on a 2000 V220 Ambiente.
The drivers door is rusting from the inside ourwards, bubbling the paint. Mobilo life handbook says it is covered for perforation for 30yrs (it has 102k on the clock and full MB service history.) My local dealer is telling me it is classed as a commercial vehicle and therefore had 3yrs paint and mechanical only. I know these things rust a lot - am I getting the runaround or are they right?
Advice appreciated as it is going to need a new door and paint by the looks of it.

You will have to check the wording of the warranty but I know for a fact that the V-class was sold as a passenger car, through official car dealerships.
So Glad I got rid of my V220cdi

Call MB Customer services and query it. Sounds very odd to me. I'd expect your claim to be honoured, especially as this is precisely what the 30 year warranty is designed to protect against. It's more likely that your dealer doesn't know what he's talking about.

What is important is what's written in the service book with the car, that is what MB will cover. When I looked at a Viano recently I noticed that the warranty information is different to the Cars (generally less)
