V230 Which Engine Oil V Class HELP

Hi Guys, im just about to do a service what engine oil goes into a 1997R V230 petrol auto, its only done 65k and all previous services done at main dealer, anyway i called them today and they THINK at the time of the service they used 5w30 FULLY SYNTHETIC is this right or balloney

I would say that this is the correct oil. Mobil 1 0-40 fully syn is the best but also the most expensive. Cheapest place to buy 2 x 5 litre containers is Costo for about £46 inc vat. Or I would use Chevron 5-40 Fully syn at £26 for 8 ltrs, also at Costo.

I see that Halfords are doing a special on Mobil 1 fully syn at £37 for 5 litres, but you will need more than that.

Best stay with fully synthetic

ok i stick to the 5w30 i should pick that up for less than £15 per 5L
