has any one ever replaced a machinical vacummn pump with an electric one on a 1995 e class 250 diesel.i have had to replace mine twice in the last couple of months because the cam that makes the pump run has got a chunk missing from it.any help any body.

Electric pumps are not made to run all of the time, the MB ones have built in timers and vacuum shut off switches

Well you cant use a MB type, but there should be no reason why you could not use a different one.
