I have a W123 230TE. The central locking is starting to get a bit slow and has appreciably lost some grunt. I am not sure at all the headlight adjustment is working, but if it is it is moving only slightly. Does anyone have any ideas on what is geerally the first things to go with these units and what should be checked first, and any ideas of how I should check the system?

Cheers

There is plenty advice in the forum for vacuum central locking. Use the search facility. If it is that bad you will have two or more splits in the slave cylinders located in each of the doors, in the boot/tailgate and above the filler cap. Replacement is the only effective cure. I suspect about £30 each but a little more for the boot/tailgate one.
