Hello, I wonder if anyone can assist? On our C250D I have found a stray Vac Tube which comes from the top of a component called the Vacuum Control Valve (its a little cast alloy box with 2 Vac Tubes going into the front of it from the area of the engine/gearbox plus this 3rd tube which on mine is floating loose) this valve is situated in with the Accelerator Cable/Cruise Control gubbins, my belief is that this thing knocks off the throttle a tad as the auto box makes its changes, the trouble is that despite having a really good look round I cannot see where this stray Vac Tube should attach to. I have been through the Parts Catalogue here online but it does not show the connections, and of course the Haynes Manual is of no help, does anyone know where this Vac Tube should connect to?
Steve.

Hello Malcolm and thanks for your assistance, our complete Vin Number is;
WDB 202 1252 F319 259.
I'm assuming that this tube connects somewhere under one of the components in the area of the Throttle Quadrant/Cruise Control set up, but I really cannot see where and I don't want to be disturbing that stuff on a casual poke around, so any help is appreciated,
Steve.

Still Looking for somwhere to poke it!

Well I still have not found a home for the little tube, from the layout of the tube itself it always seems to have been in the area of the Throttle Mechanism/ECU, today I spent an unprofitable hour just peering at the various bits, used a mirror and torch to peep underneath, but all to no avail, I then spoke with 2 MB main Dealers but no one seems to be able to tell me where this tube should be connected to. I think its too much of a coincidence that I was working on the fuel system, which involves quite a bit of squeezing down the side of the engine, just before I developed the harsh gear changes, but I was not in the area of the loose tube, which was covered with its plastic lid, and I cannot see any loose tubes hanging about in the engine bay, there must be someone out there in Mercedesland that knows where these tubes connect to. Just as a BTW the Haynes WSM shows a nice drawing of the Vacuum Control Valve /Cruise Control mechanism along with its tube connecters, but of course no mention of what it actually connects to!

A Drawing of the Vacuum Control Valve and its location(I hope!)

Well this with the help of Mrs S this should show a drawing of the parts, the tube I have hanging loose can be seen just above No11 on the drawing, to the left is the pair of tubes which come up from the engine bay area, but where does the single tube connect to???
Steve.
