Hi every body I'm brand new here so please be gentle for a week or two.
I have looked at the site for a few weeks and most info seems to be spot on so I registered.
First post is a genuine one, where can I get a realisic valuation for my 1998 (R) E240 Estate Auto Elegence Dark blue cloth trim 130k miles FSH MB up till 97K then local specialist folding mirrors Air Con auto dipping rear veiw mirror good 16" alloys.
Car in generally very good condition but NOT immaculate no dents or scrapes but some stone chips touched in by hand.
Any information welcome.

I used to use 0.5% for every 1,000 miles up or down from the average mileage.

But I do wonder how accurate this is? Maybe someone else has a better way of adjusting value?

Cars are very cheep to buy at present time due to dealers offering 0 per cent finance I personaly think your car will sell at around the £5000 mark. this is just my personal view . i am not knocking your car in any way .You could take it round a few dealers and get a rough idea what they think.. Good luck mate.

Today

Thanks for the info. Today I had a look at a few motors and working on the same value got offered between £7k and £5.5K however a day after initial posting a lacal dealer offered me £3.5K How can these idiots expect any loyalty with such a big difference in valuations.
One for the memory bank Today a dealer said to me "If it was metalic I would offer you more." The car that I was looking at was also a solid colour so I responded "How much discount then as that is not metalic" Silence was the noisey reply. If any traders read this post please respond with the logic behind that remark. I am not desperate to sell just fancy a change BUT not at any price.

Also look at www.parkers.co.uk Valuations from them 3 sources vary quite abit !!
Don't forget if the car your looking at buying is over priced by a couple of grand, the dealer can aford to offer more for your car - Maybe making you feel you got a good price !!
