Thanks for the advice guys. The CLK is not for daily use as I have a new car for that.
I can't build a "lean-too" as my garage is attached to the neighbours so no space for it.

I have messaged a local group to see if anyone has storage space locally. Otherwise it might have to go to the parents in-laws as they have a huge garage. Problem with that is its 20 miles away and I want to jump in it when I feel the urge!

I’d use your in-laws garage you’ll only need it for 4 months or so of the year. Not a big fan of outdoor car covers mainly for the negative reasons above and that the one I used some years ago delaminated so ended up not fit for purpose. Carports tend to be the best solution I even prefer to garages as cars dry properly when in use

Yes a garage is far better than any cover, even if it is inconvenient to get there ,.My cover is 4 tears old and doing fine .

I use a Stormforce cover on the Smart but it is indoors. I also have one for the 129 (also under cover).

Worked very well but you need to make sure it's well anchored and not too exposed during storms.

I'm afraid some of our less scrupulous competitors charge a premium for so-called 'custom made' covers which are in fact a standard cover with mirror pockets stitched on. They are not made for each vehicle, but they do somehow try to justify a c. 50% premium plus making a song and dance about a carry bag, underbody straps and cable lock for free.
We include a bag and straps but the cheap cable locks they supply are only good enough for eBay where we sell ours off.

Any dimple texture fabric is not waterproof, just shower resistant, but covers that are vinyl or spray-on silver coated are simply waterproof, and not breathable - and no number of vents will make any difference to that as their effect is very localised.
