Ventilation Control Illumination

Just noticed that the lamp in the centre ventilation control wheel has failed. Has anyone ever replaced lamps on these control wheels. Car is 2001 E200K elegance.

Thanks for your replies - Its the ventilation grille above the heater control unit. On my car the wheels have a white strip that lights up to show the position that the wheel is set at.

Sorted it over the weekend. Neded to follow Parrots "how to" and then unscrew central grille, bulb holder located at base of grille.

I think the same thing has happened to my 2002 C Class...the illuminated strip inside the ventilation position wheels no longer light up (did they ever?...I can't remember, maybe they are just from the Mercedes parts bin, and don't light up on lowly models like mine.)

The new Hayne's manual does not cover this point (and frankly doesn't cover lots!). Parrot's advice seems comprehensive, but does it just apply to the E-Class? How long should it take for a rank amateur like me to dismantle the centre console, replace the bulb, and re-assemble?
