Does anyone have any experience of ventura sports springs as supplied by euro car parts. From what I can gather from their forum  these are the springs supplied in the bilstein streetline and sportline kits. Both appear to lower about 45 mm. There seem to be 2 schools of thought about lowering the ride height. 1 - use the original shocks if they are ok. this keeps the ride similar to factory spec. 2 - use the shorter but firmer sport shocks to match the lower uprated springs, this gives a much firmer ride?  I wish to lower the car  but retain the the ride similar to factory spec if possible. Any comments on ventura springs/lowering shocks welcome thanks

I fitted a set of eibach springs onto my 190e, the car only had 30k on the clock and all was well, the ride height was reduced and the handling improved.  I used the standard shocks.

Very satisfactory outcome.  I would fit sports springs on a future car if I felt it necessary.

Hi I actually have the ventura sports springs fitted to my 190E  they have lowered my car 40mm front and rear .... the ride is not to  harsh at all ... but still stiff enough to give a decent improvent in handling....

(190's are real easy to lower ... it definatley doable at home with the right tools)

I've been Quite impressed as they're very cheap...

Its always a good idea to use shortend shocks ... If you are worried that the ride may be too harsh , there are adjustable shocks available from Spax , so you can set the 'stiffness' of the shocks your self... though this aint cheap...

At the moment I am still using the standard shocks , but do definatley plan to upgrade the shocks (as this is really where most of the handling improvement is to be had on most cars)... personaly I will go with either bilstein or Boge turbo gas shortend shocks .. not too expencive... and Ive used them before.

hi - i know this is an old thread but just wanted to add that i just changed to the ventura springs on my 300e and found the ride quality still pretty comfortable but the steering under cornering feels loads better. i realise this is a seat-of-the-pants thing but thought i should mention the nearly undiscernable loss in comfort after these springs. i retained by stock shocks.

after a few days of settling in - the feeling i get is that the ride is obviously a bit stiffer (but not uncomfortable) and you can feel the bumps a bit more but overall not a bad feeling.
