I was quietly minding my own business in my bedroom this morning when I heard glass outside shatter and hit my window, I go downstairs, the fence outside the house has been knocked out of alignment and out the ground.

There's bumper parts everywhere, some idiot has driven into my fence, taken it down and driven off!!

I decide to call the police, and bring the phone downstairs for 2 secs, and by the time I get back to the phone with the number, the rabbit has chewed the wire... So I have no home phone.

So I called the police from my mobile and they told me to go to the station, I go to town (with my bumper bits too) to the police station, then thye tell me there's nothing they can do....

So I've got a broken iron fence now, and a bumper and headlamp of a landrover discovery.....

:(

Sorry to hear that Hanz. Didn't this happen to you before? Don't spose the number plate fell off..........I know how you feel though, I just had to pay for the repairs to the loan car that some tosser had kindly smashed into. I reckon you may just come across the Disco. It could be worth mentioning it (when your phone is fixed) to local garages too and see if they are about to repair a Disco. Meanwhile, how was your rabbit supper ? :)

Why can the police not do anything?
There's damaged property and proof of who caused the damage. They have a responsibilty to investigate.
It gets on my nerves when they see something happening and wont even get out of their cars unless it's to ticket a motorist.
Or not as I saw today, a pretty young girl drives the wrong way down a one way system. (Driving an SLK ) The reason, so she can go to Macdonalds without driving around the city centre.
Plod marches over spends 5 minutes laughing and joking with her, the friend returns with the takeaway and he waves them on their way.
On seeing this I walk over and look at him, he asks if he can help me. I just said no, just making note of your number, for the next time I get pulled for a lesser offence than driving dangerously the wrong way on a one way system.

Trawl the area and ask around who owns a disco, then check it for damage and send the boys in.

Typical of a Lancashire person that response.

I'd be step by step with him :)
(Allegedly)

Typical ! I know how you feel Hannah.

A few months ago I was at work on a Sunday afternoon (sad, i know) catching up on some paperwork. I heard some loud metallic banging noises and after a few minutes I thought I would check out where it was coming from. ( there is a Fabrication company a few units down from me and they can be a bit noisy sometimes..) So i went outside and saw a Transit van pullling off, looked down the side of my unit and noticed the padlocks were missing off my container. Yes, in full daylight a couple of pikeys had tried to break into my 20' shipping container!

I rang 999 and told them there was break in in progress and they said there would be someone straight down - and true to their word - they were straight down 1 1/2 hours later...........

I gave them a statement, the registration number of the Transit van that was pulling off - including distinquishing features on the back doors ( a chequered flag sticker). They rang me a week later to say they had tracked the van to the registered address (20 miles away in a known "dodgy" area) but they wouldnt be taking it further as I had not witnessed them actually trying to break in or seen them get into the Transit.

Thank you Mr Police, you were a great help

It annoys me. I mean even if I did see the disco with missing pieces, then I still probably couldn't prove it as I didn't actually see them do it, I just heard it.

I pay taxes for this "police service" and when I go down there, they couldn't care less. I bet if it was their fence they have to repair they would be bothered. I walk into the station, and 2 blondes just looking very miserable then I tell them about the incident and they discuss together that there's nothing they can do. Actually their words were "Is it worth doing an accident/collision report on this" ....

Yes it's happen before. Last time a tractor went past with it's rollers on the back, and took out the other side of the fence, luckily I had witnesses, who knew who did it. Got a brand spanking new fence too.

The second time a lorry got stuck on the fence, luckily, it took me, and another delivery van to unhitch him before any damage was caused.

All I hope is the repairs are ****** expensive on this thing... Cheap nasty land rover.. :( :)

I had a drive round looking for the culprit, but nothing to my despair.

It just ****es me off that someone who knows what they've done out there has got away with it...

As for Coco the rabbit, he's been kept in tonight.. Little bugger, I can't believe I leave the phone for 2 seconds and his chomps straight through it..

I'm still blaming a woman in a 4x4 for this.

Here's a couple of pics. This was a iron fence, that was straight! :(

I'm thinking about getting boulders put outside!!

I have never seen human beings (police) who more perfectly represented the modern conception of robots.

Put an add in the local rag "Discovery bumper & headlight parts going free. Will deliver locally". You might end up with their name & address.

Then send the boys in :x
