Hi, I'm a newbie on here so forgive me if I'm not posting this in the right place but here goes...

My parents have just bought a C220 estate (really pleased with it!) However, my Mum suffers from a bad back and finds the leather seats REALLY cold and this doesn't help her back at all. Is there any kind of after-market heating kit that can be installed?

If not - has anyone managed a solution to this problem?

Hope someone can help?

Sorry, I can't help you, but it will help others to help you, if you say what year the car is!

Thanks for the link!

Just forwarded that to her to see what she thinks. I'm thinking of something that could be installed under the leather so you still get the comfiness of the Merc leather?? Anyone heard of anything like that?

Shame they didn't specify the heated seat package when they bought it!

Yeah, but as a factory option, it's a £320 option. Know which I'd prefer!

I'm sure you could have negotiated heated seats been thrown in as part of the deal if buying brand new...

I'd never get leather option without heated seats. They're fantastic on the cold mornings. I don't feel like getting out of the car once I reach work, could just sit in the car park a fall asleep!! lol.

Speak to MB and ask if a retro fit kit is available for your car as you maybe very surprised as retro fit kits are surprisingly cheap and even come with instructions taken directly from WIS.
If you are on a budget you could get a local mechanic/auto spark to fit to save on the labour prices.

Personally, I would not buy a new car without heated seats, with or without leather! Perhaps it has something to do with being swedish?! Heck, even my first car, a Ford Sierra 2.0 had them!

id speak to the dealer first. A factory fit kit will be so much better. if you can get one. Also you could speak to Alfie (a member on here). He fits all sorts of factory bits so it all looks and works as standard.

Not everybody's cup of tea, but this company makes very high quality sheepskin seat covers and overrugs in MB complimentary colours and cut to perfect fit.

http://www.easirider.com/

Had one on the heated drivers seat of the 124 coupe for probably 5 years and its as good as new and never need to use the seat heaters, very luxurious, not cheap but quality seldom is.

Do not envisage those nasty things from the accessory shop, they are of no comparison.
