Took my car to Edinburgh Mercedes this morning for its first service.
I arrived for them opening at 8am and was greeted by a pretty young girly who took all the details quickly and efficiently. Even before I could mention it she asked if I would be happy for them to wash my car, to which i said a firm NO. ;) Apart from the obvious reason my car was only washed and dried yesterday and was totally immaculate inside and out, so if they had washed it I would actually have got it back in a worse state than I gave it.
Waiting appointments are not currently permitted so they gave me a loan car which was an entry level CLA 200 (1.3 litre) Shooting Brake in the same colour as my car.
They knew I was intending to stay local so would be attending to my car right away. Meanwhile I went round the corner to McDonalds and ordered 2 sausage and egg Mcmuffins and a coke then sat at the window and watched the world go by...
I was keeping an eye on my Mercedes Me app so I knew when they were finished with my car which was approximately 70 minutes after I left the dealership. I made my way back to the loan car and as expected I received a phone call to say my car was ready.

The A service complete at 3865 miles and engine oil used was 5W-30 229.51.
The warning light was previously on for my screen wash so this was topped up and the remainder of the bottle of concentrate (just over half a litre) was left in the car for me, which I thought was a nice touch.
Best of all I did not need to part with any cash for this service because I took out a 2 service plan just after purchase at the 20% discounted price of £576.
When booking I asked how much this service would cost if paying on the day and was told £283. I will not have to part with any money for my B service but that one includes a brake fluid change so I expect the cash price to be in the region of £350 - £400, which makes my service plan entirely worthwhile.

Dealer servicing is always a nervous time for me because I am super OCD about my cars, but Edinburgh Mercedes done a good job and my car was returned quickly in perfect condition along with its Digital Service Report.

I wouldn't expect andy less than the service recived. You are paying for a service.
Actually its rather a shame in this day and age that you have to write such a review when you are paying for a service.
I disagree that its a nice gesture you got the screen wash. You paid for it. Normally the bars stewards charge you and you dont see the rest of the bottle or they charge you for nothing. Have you heard of the screen wash test.
Plus its not even summer yet and they give you winter screen wash.

I agree it is a shame for the reasons you state...but unfortunately this is the world we live in.

Screen wash is currently included with a ServiceCare plan but is not routinely included in a normal Mercedes service without being an additionally charged item, which is a point stated in the benefits of ServiceCare. However this is not to say that your dealer does not routinely top up the screen wash anyway.
Regardless of whether it is included or not I do not see that the customer has any right to the remainder of the screen wash concentrate bottle. The only time this would apply would be if the service itemised (and paid for) 1 litre bottle of concentrate and only half was actually used.
Every dealer service from multiple manufacturers that I have ever had my screen wash has been topped up, but I have never been given the remainder of a bottle.
It is perfectly acceptable for them to supply the Winterfit screen wash because they will not see my car again until this time next year, so if they supplied Summerfit then come the winter it would freeze if I done nothing about it.
I go a full year between services without needing to top up my screen wash, so Winterfit is the correct one for me.

P.S. No I have not heard of the screen wash test or how it could apply to me?
P.P.S. Yes it is Summer. :p BST began on 28th March.

Blimey .... that's either a mahoosive screen wash bottle or you don't go do many miles a year ;)

:)I usually top up the screen wash when ever I lift the bonnet of any of our cars

The answer is contained within my original post. :D

I deliberately ran it down in the last few days before my service, and I was surprised at how much I wasted before the warning came up.
In complete contrast my girlfriend can virtually empty the screen wash in her Corsa in little more than a couple of weeks.
I was convinced she must have a leak...but no. :D

I have always had similar service at Oxford Mercedes. And usually they also leave the remainder of screen wash in the car.
I often wonder why there are so many bad reviews about MB dealers. But I suppose not all are perfect. Even though they should be.
