Couple of nights ago the alarm went off on my 2012 Viano at 3.14am... very embarrassing as we have several houses overlooking where it is parked. It stopped OK with the plip aimed from inside the house and the security cam shows there was no interference. It wasn't windy, all the windows were closed and nothing had fallen down inside it. It hasn't happened again the past 48hrs but I want to make sure it doesn't happen again.
So I wonder if the alarm siren unit could be suffering the failing battery/circuit board damage issue?
An added bit of info was when I bought the vehicle a few months ago plipping it would leave the hazards flashing until you plipped a second time... also in the first days of ownership it auto locked with the keys inside when at the fuel station but thankfully so was my wife to let me back in. But both those issues resolved after fitting a new main vehicle battery and running the vehicle daily after it had stood for months.
My alarm siren isn't one of the common ones sold on Ebay by main dealers for around £100 but if it is around that price I should probably just change it??
Anything else come to mind to give false alarms?
