Only on an uneven road surface?? My E220 Cabriolet feels a little looser than the coupe i used to have when on bad roads, but def shouldnt be bad vibrations at 30-40.

If it was at higher speeds (60ish), id say get your wheel balacing checked, but otherwise not sure.

I have a SL320, and no vibration at any speed (140mph on the Germany Autobahn :D ). I do feel the those bad pot holes / crators throu the 18" AMG wheels with 40 & 35 series tyres !!! :x

But, on a good road no problem. Sound like your suspension need a quick once over.

vibration you hope

HiJohn,I have a 99 320sl which vibrates on good roads this i suspect is a balancing problem as the car has new tyres fitted .I have had two of these cars from new and never experanced vibration, although i am led to believe this could appeal to female drivers/passengers.please let me know how you get on

Think you need to get it looked at asap and then either take it back if serious or get any repairs paid for by them.

The Wheel balancing usually only kicks in at about 60mph.
If you had flat spots on your tyres, it would get worse with speed.

Take it to dealer, or for faster service, a specialist in your area.

there's a difference between scuttle-shake and vibration. The SL body is not as torsionally stiff as a coupe or saloon body and so it will flex a litlle on bad roads. But vibrations; there should not be any. Take it back and have it properly checked.
