Hello all..

i got a questions i hope any kind soul can offer me some advice. i got a 1994 c180 w202 automatic which drives beautifully but i recently noticed the following problem (or i think it is a problem..hmm)

when i cold start ... the RPM goes to 1000 and stays there for a while before dropping to approx 600-650.. (this is normal as far as i know).. however when i put the gear into Drive with my brakes on.. the RPM drops a bit and the car starts making a vibration noise near the right aircon vent.. however when i push the gas down or start driving .. the sound is gone.. it starts again when i stop at a traffic light. this happens also in reverse.

Any suggestions ? i remember reading about changing the engine mounts, tunning, changing sparkplugs.. any thing else i can do...during my next service ?

All information appreciated.

Cheers

JK

the mounts looks worn and abit crack... that could be the cost of it right ? also.. do i need to change the absorber thingy near the fan at the same time ?

There is no connection between the 2 faults, just do the engine mounts for now

Failed engine mounts on mine I'm pretty certain were also the cause of the belt tensioner shocker going regularly. Since I did the mounts, the shocker has been pretty much fine.
