Viezu remap issues

Hi all,

Only joined today and need some advice about remapping.

I had initially got a remap made by Viezu (switchable via hardware) but have endless problems with DPF (replaced entirely), fault codes coming up relating to EGT- P2084 & P242B (exhaust gas temp sensors). When put back to factory settings hardly ever happen.

More recently put the map back and had Ad Blue warning....am sick and tired of this nonesense, see attached codes.

I have a CLS 350d 2015 258bhp.

Has anyone else experiences these issues with Viezu or sub par remap?

I think we have had many issues with poor remaps, almost always those “chip tuned” by using an ECU spoofer.

The unit i have tines the car via OBD. I took a download of the original and sent the file to company who then supposedly made some mods and sent the file back.

Fyi…It isnt a box that connected to the engine.

If it’s an OBD plugin, then it literally is just that. It is spoofing the engine ECU into overfuelling by messing with input values.

The proper remap actually changes the engine ECU parameters in the ECU itself; what you have is different.

If you want a remap only use a reputable place like GAD, MSL or AMF.
Ideally get it done on a rolling road.
Costs more but well worth it.

It gets disconnected from OBD port once programmed. Is this still the same?

You cant blame the car for acting up when it is operating outside what it is made for. Thats just my view on remapping certain cars.

Have you spoke to the mapping company. It seems like the map is knocking things down.

I would assume you plug your ODB map in the car is tuned, remove the OBD its back to normal.

Agree with LK if mapping is how you want to go.

If you push a 350cdi or 250 cdi too hard, especially newer ones, it will trigger DPF too full codes. As the DPF acts as a restriction, the ecu sees the higher differential pressure as a "full DPF".

This can happen if the DPF is passed its best as well, it's one of the things we check.

Yes similar but my genius was developed with MSL directly

My reason for asking was that here most seem to assume that the OP only has a cheat style remap. But to me it sounds as though the process he followed is as the MSL new offer to remap.
I can appreciate that MSL may well have greater experience than who ever provided the new map for the OP, but seemingly it is only an assumption that his remap isn't good.

Yep, certainly would seem that way, however the MSL device isn’t actually that new, they have been selling these for about 5 years now iirc

That is simply not true at all that system was designed and built COMPLETELY by Dimsport in Italy many companies including ourselves 10 years ago had access to this

I find benz electronics enough of a nightmare without adding to possible conflicts n dramas. Leave std or get motor with required hp torque curve in first place..

Could well have been ten years ago thinking about it now (time flys that’s for sure), not quite the story I’d heard from the other party but I think that’s maybe a discussion I’d really love to have over DM if you’d like Anthony (really interested in getting accurate info here, nothing else intended)

Sure thing we can chat via DM that being said nothing more to say apart from they didn't simple as that. The MyGenius unit is just a smaller VIN lockable version of there flagship tool that many professionals use called NewGenius

Modern MB electronics are good as a whole i would say we have never seen issues in 10 years when it comes to ECU and TCU comms.

As for the tuning aspect i of course will be bias lol

Fair enough. But plenty electronic, electrical dramas on here. And both times I have been turned into a f pedestrian it's been electrical. NEVER happened on w208, or any car of mine previously so I hav a very low opinion of benz electrics or electronics, nox sensors wheel sp sensors ladblu sensors ect
And newest car I owned in recent times is 2013. Has proved to be the biggest headache of all. To me and future that means nothin. Later than euro3, maybe 4. If I feel the need for a modern thrill I will hire for w end and dump the problems Mon am. .that incl not buyin a car where I can't get an aftermarket dash mounted GPS, entertainment system not gettin caught out with the likes of that command system, actually very nice when working OK but when not ur pretty captive on repair, replacement choice
I put a d din system in my w168 incl lazer cut front panel it's been grand for 15 Yr.
