Vito 108 CDI problem URGENT

I have terrible problem with VITO 108CDI production 1999Y

Engine works OK,when I accelerate slowly it goes normaly,but when I stronlgy
push gas,I want to accelerate quick engine shut off,it all happens about 3000rmp and higher

I have tried all kinds of diagnosis StarDiagnose,Mercedes hht and carsoft but there are no errors

Also I have noticed something else,when vehicle stands in place and I push gas it only goes
to 3000rpm, but then vehicle is in move it goes to 4500 rpm

Help me please ,what sensors to check ,change what to do???

Try the obvious such as bloked filters (fuel/air) first these are very difficult on this engine and may have been neglected at service time.
If not would try the Merc diagnostics again perhaps it is the Fuel pump/injector problem that is so common on this engine?

It not being able to rev past 3000 when out of gear could be normal. Not sure about the vito but this is normal behaviour for Merc cars .

As for the rest of the problem, does it go back to normal when you ease of the throttle, will it rev past 3000 in gear if you take it gently?

hi mate you will be glad to knoe that i have also had this problem
if you look at the loom where it runs round the back of the air box you will see that it rubs on a stud bhind the air box. what i did was strip back the loom where it had rub fix it and then cut off the stud. hope this helps i have hurd that this is a common fault.
