vito 108cdi 2001 smell in cabin

Hi was wondering if anyone has had problems with an acrid smell/fumes in the cabin of their diesel vito. mine started in the summer its a horrid smell which hurts your eyes and throat. It only does when the car is stationery ! opening the windows helps but in the summer the aircon was useless and now its a bit chilly !! . the garage has looked a couple of times and they have replaced the egr valve which was leaking this did help a lot but it still does it. Any ideas please as i think i will have to trade it in but its a usefull vehicle as it is the people carrier version. Also if anyone is interested i have a 1983 280se twin cam with engine problems which i only want scrap value for (£100) but it would be a shame as it has many usefull bits on it.

i have the same problem with my vito which is caused by the injectors leeking fumes into the engine bay which in turn finds a way into the cab.
