Hi all looking for some help,

The factory radio volume knob is ver temperamental. (But does work)

I have brought a new aftermarket radio and carrier assuming this would be a 5minute swap replacing old with new.

However the new radio simply does not power up. (Not broken unit)

Any ideas help I could get?
Thanks in advance, Adam

I take it you have checked the obvious that the fuse hasn't blown during changeover? I know but its happened to me a few times. I haven't replaced my Vito unit yet so I wouldn't know of obvious complications changing the Vito head unit. Some Vito owners will be along to help that are familiar with the problem hopefully shortly Longshaw

Thanks Kev, yes I have put the old/OEM unit back in and again works fine. Don’t think it would be a fuse

From what ive gathered on the Net it seems with later mercs dont have a switched live at the iso block at the rear of the radio so you have to supply one from the cigarette lighter socket or get a can interface
You possibly may also need this to use steering wheel controls

Test the radio on a separate 12v source, so you know it works. Then you will have to meter the block connector for power.

Thanks all for the guidance!

I new 12v ignition only spliced into the iso block worked for me:
