Hi Guys

I'm new to this site and I would love some help guys

I have a Vito Vito 115 CDI COMPACT SWB

And the indicators and wipers not working also fuel gauge going up and down

We recently change the drivers front window regulator as the wire had snapped.

We noticed the indicators had stopped working and so had the wipers and the fuel gauge constantly goes up and down. We used the same motor. I then changed the drivers front door ECU (do these need to be coded)

This van had been jump started a few time during the week the regulator was off

Please can some one help me.

Many thanks

Zen

What age is the van.
Early MB's were known to suffer SAM issues due to jump starting. Your problems sound like the SAM.

Replacing the SAM isn't scary in expense or doing the job.

1st though check the battery voltage, low voltage can throw up all sorts of issues.

2005 is pre upgrades, so I assume you have the old style speedo (not budgie smugglers).
That increases the risk of SAM issue.

1st you need to sort the battery, sounds like a replacement might be due but could be other issues draining it down.
As a minimum with the battery at a healthy voltage I would do a disconnect battery type reset, you might be lucky with that, but I would be surprised.
What's the voltage when you scan it?

I would be thinking to replace the SAM.
As the canbus is in error it seems you've lost chance to diagnose anyway. Although if your using a lesser capable reader Star may be more successful.

The SAM is located below the fuse board (in the under bonnet enclosure).
The fuse board needs to be removed, 2 torx screws rear, 2 forward (if they're still there). The SAM is held by the other torx screw through the fuse board.

While lifting the fuse board be cautious not to damage the plugs at the underside and rear, the fan (for the enclosure) plug is easily broken.
Take the number from the SAM and find a 2nd hand one with the identical number on eBay, upwards of £80.
I had a 639 545 03 01 [03] with none faults purely for diagnosis. Who ever I posted it to may read this and offer to do the same for you.
Anyway if you get one off eBay and it works great. If it solves your issue but introduces new faults you get your money back.

They are plug and play and don't require any coding.
