Vito - Glow Plugs

I have a 1999 Vito 110Cdi

Glow plugs went. Mechanic has snapped one a it is stuck in the cylinder head/engine. He tells me this is a common problem and wants to charge to remove the head and rebuild the engine, and often occurs with Vito's. Is he telling me the truth. :twisted:

unfortunatley YES it is quite common but it is normaly due to the heater plug being over tighened on instalation. MB now do a kit to remove the heater plug from the head but it is very expensive
