Can someone tell me the series identification for my Vito L?

Mine's a 1997 model, 2.3 auto, 4-cylinder .

I've looked but couldn't find a mention anywhere.

Cheers!

thanks.

i've had mine for a year now, had to change the blower motor once, apart from that it's been pretty ok.

anything else to watch out for?

obviously mine has a lot less electronics compared to your v-class, but it's a lot less luxurious & comfortable too.

cheers!

Ive had faulty clutch, brakes, suspension links, 2 air suspension pumps, oil level sensor, central locking water leaks and rust.
The V Class does seem to be inherently more unreliable than the vito

I have recently sold it and aquired a VW Caravelle

aha! central locking... mine seems to be on the on and off.

sometimes it works fine, at times it unlocks itself immediately after i've locked the doors. when this happens, i need to open & close one of the doors, either the right sliding door (mine comes with 2 sliding doors), or the rear door.

at first i suspected a faulty remote, but when it happens also when i lock the doors manually, so now i'm thinking it could be a fault with the door sensors.

what was the problem with yours, and did it cost a lot to fix?

cheers!

My central locking was fixed twice under warranty for exactly the same problem. As far as I know they cleaned up the external contacts on the sensors (scratch marks) and remade the electrical connections.
