Hi, I appreciate that most of the posts on here refer to Mercedes cars but I have a problem with my 108cdi vito which someone maybe able to help with.

Basically I've had the van for a year when today, suddenly, out of the blue I got an alarm when I was leaving the van telling me I'd left the lights on. However this 5 second burst is all I've heard as it now refuses to work again!!

Can anyone tell me where the "lights on" alarm/relay is located and what possible problems might cause it to stop working?

Any help greatly appreciated as I don't have any manual for this vehicle.(are any available?)

Regards
Steve

Gonna guess here.

In the SLK i had the light switch could be hit by your knee when getting out. Only got short stumpy legs. I never noticed the alarm sound and often left the parking lights on. I noticed the alarm when i returned to switch them off.

The new one doesnt have an alarm at all. The dash display tells you you have left the lights on when in parking light mode.

I suggest you try to test the lights by leaving them on in all different positons and removing the keys from the ignition. It may be you need to move one of the indicator stalks up or down and see if that activates the parking light. you may need to open the door before the alarm activates too.

In fact in around 30mins am gonna check the SLK so later on I may have more info. I stress this is a guess. someone who has one should be better equipt to tell you.

finaly remembered

the lights on warning light only works with the lights switch on side or headlights switch on. the key out of the ignition and the door opened.

you will need to have a go at trying different positions and see if you can activate it again.
