Hi
I thought i had a glow plug problem with my vito. I have checked voltage at glow plugs and checked glow plugs all seem okay.
The van is difficult to start but once running goes fine? Would it point to a fuel presure problem?
I had trouble with a sprinter that was losing fuel pressure, it would start until you had built up preesure again by turning the engine over a few times. First i changed pressure reg seals but that didnt work. It turned out as the injectors were not sealing?
Is this problem found in Vito's too?
Many thanks Barry

Yes, they share the same engines. Have an injector leak off test done, it should show up if one or more has gone faulty. They can be repaired - I paid about £200 for the leak off test, removal overhaul and refit of one injector.

hi,
thanks for replys. Managed to sort out the vito today. It turned out to be the seals on the fuel pressure regulator. Far easier fix than injectors. Poor starting but drove fine? With new seals starts great
thanks barry

Hi Barry,
my Vito 108cdi on a 03 plate seems to have a similar problem to yours. It turns over on ignition but refuses to start unless I bump it down my hilly drive, it only needs a few yards down the hill and it starts fine.
But once turned off, no matter how warm the engine is it won't start on the flat.

I have had new glow plugs fitted but no better. Could you offer any advice ?

Many thanks, Chris.
