Vito tourer instrument cluster too dark

Car was absolutely but when i turned the engine off and on and the problem started. The instrument cluster is too dark, hard to see. Eveyrthing works fine but i can't see anything unil i look very closely. All the numbers and gears, mileages are there but too dark to see. I have private hire vehicle inspection booked for Friday early morning and I don't think they will pass me if inspector can't see gears selections..

Anyone know where do i start to investigate the issue?

Failed LCD panel, not unusual and replaceable if your good with screwdrivers and trim removal

Are you sure there was no switch or dial to increase the brightness of the display in the car?

It unclips from the back but you may have to remove some other bits before you finally get at it.

Only so much the picture really did show it was pretty much gone completely now

I think so, however I’m sure it’s an easy part to find on aliexpress or eBay

There is a switch to increase/decrease brightness howver it didn't make any difference on this occasion.

Yeah there is one seller selling it for around £70 but I have decided to wait and find used part in the UK which should be around £150.

I already broke the brightness dial when messing around with it thats why i don't want to replace the lcd.
