My Viano has the up-n-over rear door (so not barn doors).
I am the second owner, so it has always been like this, but I have questioned recently if the boot struts might have gone...
Basically, to lock or close the tailgate all I have to do is drop it virtually from the closed position, so from around 30cm/12 inches to closed. Any higher and I suspect there would be some serious damage resulting from the almighty slam that would result.
It will stay open fine, its just that on closing, once past the 4 o'clock position the door has to be lowered pretty much to closing, then dropped the last 30cm/10inch.
My question therefore is this normal?
