Hi All
I have bought a new rad grille insert for my TE (Pre-facelift type.) Question-is the old grille easy to take off, and how would I do it? Dont want to damage anything....
Once done, I will post pics as the new one is the "Avantgarde" type.
Thanks.

There are a series of 8mm bolts holding it in place, open the bonnet and put your fingers past the rubber seal and you can fee the bolts, I think theres 6 but have a good look.

Grille conversion done! Hopefully there are before and after shots following! Fairly straightforward-the only mod necessary was to the plastic bonnet pull, which was trimmed to remove the vertical strake and painted black to match the grille. It's a VAST improvement! Next job is to change the front indicators and wing repeaters to clear ones. Anyone got any cheap ?? ;)
Incidentally, to remove the grille there are two visible 8mm bolts, one at each side, and four more which are accessed by putting a long reach socket along the underbonnet soundproofing. (Just visible with a torch as they are quite recessed.)

I'm not to sure about the clear glass/coloured bulb indicators. I am of the impression that they can be more difficult to see operating in some lighting conditions especially against the sun when it shines through the lens and there is insufficient output from the bulb to make a visible contrast between lamp off and on.

This is only an observation, the lamps do look nicer in clear but given the number of unobservant morons and ****** minded fastards on the road looks are not the only thing to worry about.
