w ....numbers ?????

i have noticed looking on the forums that instead of saying what car it is they use a number ie w128.....i have an a class 140 does this have a w number so i know what im reading about ,,,,,,,sorry to be so numb this is my first merc...:-D

The 'W' numbers relate to the model designation. Yours is probably a W168, the attached link http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb0.asp?TP=1 has details of all the cars. The first 3 digits of your Vin is the model the next 3 detail the derivative.
