I’ve just finished the driver’s side and will do the passenger side this afternoon.

My 12 plate S212 looks OK but as the pics show the subframe end is exposed to wheel spray and is blocked with mud which I cleared out and the other item of note is that at the brake hose termination point to the brake line is rusty again this is due to wheel spray so I cleaned this up and smothered it in grease. I used Waxoyl to treat the subframe spraying as far up the box section as I could.

I’d certainly encourage owners who intend keeping their 212s to do the same.

Excellent job buddy , now get those underbody panels off and spray up the brake lines that run front to back .

Smart + others :)
Id be looking at the looking at the front of the subframe, facing the tank near the arm mount. Rusts from the inside, if the paint is bubbling, give it a good poke. Hopefully put a hole in it, then take it to mb to claim for a free replacement. Then treat it from the inside via a long spray tube. F4E0471D-B2B3-4598-9BAF-DA2130C48D48.jpeg

The mind boggles that you could think of making it like that in the first place.

I would hang my head in shame, its an expensive Mercedes Benz,

not a Shanghai Swallow 1.2 for £7,995 OTR.
