I'm hoping someone out there can help me with this query as I've not had much luck with the Forum so far......
Just last week the auto gearbox on my '82 450SLC started to misbehave. Just like a slipping clutch on a manual car from rest it hardly moves especially when cold and then jolts into gear. I've checked fluid levels and they seem fine. The fluid and filter have recently been changed. It's only done 85k miles and the box has been rebuilt in the past according to the invoice file I've got.
Is this a fault that can be dealt with by adjustment or will I need a new gearbox or torque converter?
Thanks in anticipation.
