Hi Fellow Merc Chums,
New to this, but like what I've seen so far and some of the tips have helped already...
I recently bought a 1974 450 SLC which had done 50 miles in approx 4 years, so the locks had seized, etc and she needed a good servicing before running her gently on a sunday....
I've got most things working now except for the rear quarter windows.. on pressing the switch the rear windows both come down a fifth of the distance under some strain, and then do not go any further, but need a helping hand getting back up...from a specialist or someone with know how approach...what should I do first...some people have mentioned the mechanism, or the motor, or the switches...!?!?!
One other problem is I have temperamental heaters...they are either on full time, or they don't come on at all...the switch doesn't really do anything...could this be the heater vacuum element ?
I'm not really mechanical minded, but the Haynes manual makes some sense although not always first time!
Your anticipated help is appreciated,
Chi
