Should there be a rubber strip contained between the windscreen and the lower chrome finisher? If you have a look at your car and let me know I would be most grateful.
Thanks for that Malcolm. I've seen that diagram before, but I'm unclear as to whether that strip of rubber is located between chrome finisher and windscreen or windscreen and car body.
On my slc there is just chrome trim, ~5mm air gap then windscreen.
The windscreen is allowing a very small quantity of water to enter the car (a few drips on the drivers side rubber mat) so I will have to remove this lower chrome trim, when I've worked out how(!), apply sealant and then reassemble, but I will order this rubber piece prior to doing this if necessary.
The windscreen was replaced only two years ago, but was poorly bonded at some location by the look of it. Also, I think there should be a felt filler strip between the windscreen and dashboard as well but that is missing?
I've checked to make sure the water isn't entering via the air inlet chambers and thankfully the metal is solid there and the water is spilt overboard through the proper drains.
