W114 steering problems

My 1975 mercedes was in a collision recently in which it was hit quite hard on the left side (back door) by a large vehicle turning into oncoming traffic. To cut a long story short - at first it seemed that there was no obvious damage but for the last day or two the car has started veering to the left. Does anyone have any ideas about what the problem might be and where I can get it fixed.

Impossible to say. Could be absolutely anything , related or not. Get it to a decent bodyshop and get it checked.
