My 1985 W123 300TD with 145k miles on the clock has recently developed a disturbing vibration, at the lower engine speed range. This disappears when speed is increased and the engine runs beautifullyat the moderate/higher speeds. We have checked the engine mountings and they appear to be OK, as do exhaust line and transmission mountings. Any further suggestions as to where we should direct our investigation would be appreciated.

Prop shaft maybe, or spiders and mounts, does it do it when the car is not in drive and you just rev the engine up.
