Hi to all
I have just entered the world of Mercedes ownership and bought myself a1984 W123 200 saloon, and I love it.
I have just one small problem that I need some advice on, the wife and I have been across the country the last couple of weekends, visiting family and the like, and the car has performed great, until about a hour and a half into our journey and then it stats pulling back to about 50 mph, my first thought was a lead or the coil breaking down. I have re-newed these but still get the same problem, it happened again yesterday but I noticed that if I accelerated hard the engine reved freely but no gain in speed, as if the clutch was slipping in a manual car.
Any advice would be much apprieciated, I am not very technically minded so any details of specialists locally would be also welcomed, I am in the Andover, Hants area.
Merry christmas greetings to everyone.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
Do check the level of the fluid in the box, you do have a dip stick for it, and you do it when hot and with the engine running

Your Mercedes
A diesel
As Tv, it could be low fluid level or worn out 4th gear friction material.

For a specialist in your area talk to forum member 'BlackC55'. He is near Portsmouth.

I have checked the fluid level and it was very low, I will get this sorted and hopefully that will cure the problem
thanks for your guidance.
