still cant figure it out ?

Thanks for the pic's Malcolm,

but the pic's dont really help !....

I cant see any way to remove the arm rest with it up or down there is no way to see clearly how the thing comes off (.....

It is in a terrible condition due to the heat from the sun here in Cyprus, but fortunatly it is the only thing that has been damaged with the heat and needs to be re-upholstered as it makes the car look like a builders Transit !!
( nothing wrong with Transit's, just dont want my Merc looking like one ! )

Anyhow I need a little more info on how the damm thing comes off if anyone can help.....

By the way if any keen W123 owners are interested I have just purchased a Zebrno "Tacho, fuel / clock surround " from Ebay.com and as they seem to be relisting them, they must have a steady supply, and I have to say as an aftermarket add on they are exellent quality and realy finish the interior off nicely.

waiting for more help please.....Andy

armrest

Take the backcover of the driver's seat backrest and unbolt the arm.
Here is a pic of the mechanism.
