Hello!
I'm new to the forum, have just bought an '84 W123 240TD estate requiring some TLC, and I'm having some lock issues. Both front door locks were seized, the key not turning at all. Managed to release the barrel on the passenger side and have got it working again (not the central locking mind), by removing the handle and applying plenty of WD40 and working the barrel loose. Tried the same thing on the driver's side handle but the barrel is stuck fast, looks like the alloy is corroded. I think I need a new lock barrel! Which brings me to ask:
Is it possible to remove the lock barrel from the handle or do I need to replace the whole handle? If I can just remove the barrel, how is this done?
Also, can I get a new barrel/handle to fit the existing key using the chassis number?
Many thanks is advance!
