Hi y'all,

Has anyone removed the rear screen on a w123?

I need to take mine out to sort a rust patch in the bottom left hand corner.

How easy is it to take out and refit? Does the para-chord trick work well? Will I need to use a new seal when I refit it? (old one looks ok, no leaks)

Thanks for any advice!

Try not to distort the chrome seal expander when you pull it out or it will look like a pigs ear when you put it back in. There is a special tool to use to get the strim back in but some jiggery pockery and water heavily laced with washing up liquid all over the rubber seal will help. Try not to use metal tools because that may be the cause of you rust in the first place.

When off check the condition of your contacts on the rear demister.
